Livestock 2012 Host's Feed Science Forums
UK - A series of Feed Science Forums designed to offer practical science based advice to all farmers to help improve their enterprise’s efficiency, as well as for consultants and feed advisors will be held at Livestock 2012 to be staged at The NEC, Birmingham on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 September.

Event organiser, the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers and the British Society of Animal Science are arranging and managing the forums which will be staged in a state of the art glass fronted area located in the Feeds and Forage Zone.
Presentations will be delivered throughout the two days by some of the UK’s leading nutritionists and technical specialists. Five subjects will be covered including alternatives to soya, developing best practice for heifer rearing, and links between metabolic disease and poor fertility, while a further two specialist seminars will be staged – one for sheep producers and the other focusing on pigs.
Visitors will be encouraged to participate in the sessions using voting keypads.
BSAS’s Mike Steele commented: “Once again, we are pleased to be working with RABDF on the Feed Science Forums with speakers who are experts in their fields. They will give really useful advice and simple ‘take home messages’ on some of the latest research findings that producers and their advisors can use to take a fresh look at improving feed efficiency and subsequent farm profitability. It’s also an opportunity for scientists and farmers to talk so they can work together to solve some of the challenges facing the livestock industry.”
