Price Hike for Indonesian Cattle
INDONESIA - Indonesian farmers say the price of Indonesian cattle has gone up by 20 per cent since the Government announced restrictions on imports from Australia. In December, the number of live cattle imports was reduced to 280,000 from 520,000 and the boxed beef quota was also cut.
The Australian cattle industry is expecting consumers in Indonesia will react angrily to a price hike in beef.
