Paraguay Receives Help on FMD Control
PARAGUAY - A delegation of technicians from countries across South America began a visit with the National Animal Health and Quality (SENACSA) for the eradication of the second outbreak of FMD in San Pedro, Paraguay. ABCNews reports that the mission is been carried out under the "Mercosur Action Programme to be free of FMD (PAMA), with technical support from the Standing Veterinary Committee of the Southern Cone (CVP) and Mouth Disease Center (Panaftosa).
The delegation consists of representatives from: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Urugua, Chile and Panama.
The international experts met with President of SENACSA, Dr Daniel Rojas Lopez, and the principals of the entity, for the verification of operating procedures applied in the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in cattle ranch Nazareth, San Pedro Department.
The South American delegation will stay in the country for six days. According to the programme, there will be a series of checks of staff activities, field and laboratories.
