New Fertiliser Revealed At Dairy Event
UK - Koch Advanced Nitrogen™ fertiliser, one of the most exciting developments in the fertiliser market in years, will provide the focus of attention on the J&H Bunn Ltd (Bunn) stand (Number FF328) at the 2011 Dairy Event and Livestock Show.Since its launch in March, Koch Advanced Nitrogen™ fertiliser has attracted an enthusiastic response from all sectors of farming industry, including grassland farmers who have been quick to appreciate its significant benefits.
This urea-based nitrogen fertiliser offers a new source in nitrogen that has comparable performance to ammonium nitrate in terms of efficacy, agronomic performance and cost-effectiveness with the convenience of urea.
Containing 46 per cent nitrogen, Koch Advanced Nitrogen™ fertiliser is urea-based nitrogen incorporating AGROTAIN®, a unique technology that stabilises nitrogen from loss, thereby ensuring it is retained in the soil and is available to fuel crop productivity.
The effectiveness of AGROTAIN® additive has been widely demonstrated, including the recent UK research, ADAS-led DefraNT26 project and grassland trials carried out by Dr Catherine Watson of the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute in Northern Ireland.
The Defra trial concluded the performance of Koch Advanced Nitrogen™ fertiliser is on par with traditional nitrate-based fertiliser, recording a 70 per cent reduction in volatilisation compared to normal urea. The grassland trial carried out by Watson concluded that with more nitrogen retained in the soil, a 19.9 per cent improvement in nitrogen utilisation by the grass was achieved, resulting in an 8.8 per cent increase in drymatter tonnage.
Bunn is also exhibiting SuperGrass and SuperGraze, its specialist grassland fertilisers for silage and grazing, which provide an optimum balance of nitrogen, phosphate, potash, magnesium, sulphur and sodium for maximum yield and animal nutrition.
The SuperGrass range of custom-blended fertilisers contains 500Kg/ha of genuine Kainit, a water-soluble ore containing phosphate, magnesium, sodium, sulphur, and other trace elements.
This range provides sufficient nutrients in the correct balance for intensive silage production. Ideally suited to permanent grazing land and grazing pastures following a first-cut silage system, the SuperGraze range with reduced Kainit provides the right balance of nutrient salts for grazing animals.
