Viet Nam's dairy industry has demonstrated good growth over the past decade.

Currently, Viet Nam's annual milk production is set to reach an estimated 350,000 tonnes in 2010. However, even that amount meets only 22 per cent of domestic demand.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) has recently outlined a ten-year plan for the Dairy Development Planning of Viet Nam, which involves a dramatic overhaul for the local dairy industry. Domestic milk production is to be boosted to meet local demand and also to lessen reliance on imported dairy products.

The MIT announcement is welcomed by both dairy farmers and suppliers.

Farmers can now expect government support for development plans and the necessary funding for that. Suppliers foresee looming solutions for dairy cattle development with better breeding plans, greater feed production, improved animal health care, fully sanitized milk collection, and entirely modern processing for dairy cattle production.

"This positive trend in Viet Nam's dairy industry is already reflected by keen interest from abroad in ILDEX Viet Nam 2010. Leading dairy technology suppliers have booked to showcase their products, service, technology and business solutions at this leading dairy show in Viet Nam," said Ms. Ladda Mongkolchaivivat, general manager, N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd., (NEO) the organiser of ILDEX Viet Nam 2010.

ILDEX Viet Nam 2010 is the 3rd International Livestock, Dairy, Meat processing, and Aquaculture Exhibition, which takes place from the 25th to 27th of March 2010 at The New Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Phu My Hung, HCMC in Viet Nam. ILDEX Viet Nam is a cooperation between NEO and its international partners - - VNU Exhibitions Europe and its local partner, Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertising Services (VEAS).

"ILDEX Viet Nam 2010 is ready to serve the rising demand for state-of-the-art technology for Viet Nam's dairy industry. As a result, we expect a lot of activity at the dairy section of ILDEX Viet Nam 2010. Dairy operators both big and small will certainly take this opportunity to search for newer technology and business solutions to improve production and future investment," said Ms. Mongkolchaivivat.

"This year's ILDEX Viet Nam 2010," she continued, "is showcasing the latest dairy technology from leading names worldwide. This will make it a very busy section, perhaps even more active than the livestock, meat-processing and aquaculture sections. So we believe that ILDEX Viet Nam 2010, one of the most awaited events of the year, is the center stage for Viet Nam's dairy industry."

ILDEX Viet Nam takes place on 25-27 March 2010 at SECC in HCMC, Vietnam.
