Hou Sheng-mou, director of the Department of Health (DOH), led five experts to inspect Canada's cattle registration, slaughter houses and meat packaging houses.

The DOH is expected to make a decision on Canadian beef imports toward the end of February.

Taiwan used to be the fifth-largest export market for Canadian beef with annual imports worth 20 million Canadian dollars (17.78 million US dollars).
